※ Yuugure Dimension
It is common knowledge among the owners of Kamishibas that the species is capable of living almost anywhere across time, space, and dimension, and thus they do not live within any specific world or universe. This isn't to say that they do not possess a certain 'world' of their own, however. In fact, the world where the Kamishibas come from, where their eggs are formed, and where most of them come into being, is known as Yuugure (夕暮れ ) which means 'Twilight'. In this special dimension, the sky is always in two tones: Magic Hour (morning) and Shadow's Glow (night).
Yuugure's landscape is a mountainous territory rife with flora (Trees, exotic plants, and flowers), and some common inter-dimensional visitors such as birds and small aquatic animals. Only one known temple exists within the land that has been researched.
Small 'lights' are a constant presence within the Kamishibas' dimension. Varying in size and brightness, these lights are actually known to be the embodiment of 'wishes' of any kind. They can be good wishes, bad wishes, wishes from humans, or wishes from any other species. They are desire and want without a material shape or a specific form. It is from these wishes that Kamishibas are born; Some wishes will turn into Kamishiba eggs, and some will turn into eggs after a person's strongest desires are written on special paper by the Temple.
Kamishiba eggs are sent from Yuugure into other worlds. However, if an egg is lost between worlds in the process of dimensional travel, it may vanish and return to the dimension as another light. These lights are faint and weak, a shadow of what they could have been.
All this information and more were gathered from a single notebook left by an unknown traveler. This unknown being is known as the 'Twilight's Traveler', and though their whereabouts remain unknown, notes and information still sometimes appear on the branches of the deepest trees that surround the Kamishibas' temple, providing new insight into this mysterious species.
The only Kamishibas living at Yuugure's Dimension are the 4 guardians Kamishibas, the entity living inside the temple, Astral Kamishibas that visit the dimension anytime they want, and Pure Lopdiemies (Twilights' Instigators). Kamishiba eggs don't hatch at Yuugure since they were created by the stronger desires of beings outside the Yuugure world.

※ AURORA LAND DIMENSION - Homeland
Kamishibas don't live at the "Yuugure". There is a place between Yuugure and the dimensions where the Kamishibas end (the dimension where they meet with the creature whose WISH created them). Most of those dimensions or the creatures who live there may not be prepared to live with a Kamishiba, and they ended living in "Aurora Land".
When Kamishibas are prepared to go to the dimension they belong they travel to Aaro Island; there is a mysterious portal that only opens when the Kamishibas are ready to go and leave forever Aurora (click the map to read the info about the areas). |
※ KAMISHIBAS' GOD?
|
Kamishiba knows nothing of religion, and though they are 'messengers sent from Heaven', they are aware of next to nothing about the subject. Most Kamishiba only holds a sense of gratefulness toward whatever being created them, which is generally believed to be the Entity that resides at the Kamishiba's temple. The Entity is a mysterious creature that guards the eggs and the Temple in Yuugure. This Entity cannot be seen or approached and wears a large coat to help hide from view. When the person whose desire created the Kamishiba egg in the temple approaches, it will allow that person to take the egg. But should an intruder whose wish did not take part in creating the egg attempt to enter, that intruder will instead find themselves at the mercy of the Temple and the Entity within. They will never again see their own home or time. His real form is unknown. A strange sketch in the Traveler's notebook may show his eyes or partial form, but it is impossible to tell if it is a Kamishiba or not. |
※ Twilight's Instigators - [Lopdiemis]
Those eggs that are lost between worlds when traveling to other dimensions most often return to lights in Yuugure, but rarely, others are kidnapped on the way by "Twilight's Instigators", or the Lopdiemis('Haze Walkers', as translated by the Traveler). These creatures possess a visible draconic form but are neither dragon nor demon. They come in a variety of draconic forms, always possess large and sharp teeth, and unlike Kamishiba their bodies are predominately covered in scales. Closer inspection would reveal that Lopdiemis always lack one part of their bodies, be it paws, a head, wings, a tail, or more. These missing body parts are replaced with haze or mist, and they all have one thing in common; these missing parts are always the parts of the body the Lopdiemis find the most precious and important to themselves.
Therefore, the main objective of every Lopdiemis is to obtain a completely new, full-body that can exploit all of their skills. If their 'obtained' body stops functioning, a Lopdiemis will continue and seek another complement to continue existing. If a Kamishiba is born with an abnormality, these creatures are often at fault. Though some eggs escape from being kidnapped by Lopdiemis, there is usually a residue of the mist or haze left behind on the egg that does not allow the Kamishiba inside to be born healthy. These unhealthy Kamishiba typically do not have all the benefits associated with their types and the most known cases are the Abnormal One Colored Kamishibas.
